Papergee and the Spider heads to Manchester!
Earlier this year, founder Eleanor Stewart worked in collaboration with Visible Fictions to create the Stop Motion Animation short film ‘Papergee and the Spider’.
We are delighted to announce that ‘Papergee and the Spider’ has been selected to be screened at the Manchester Animation Festival . The film was selected from over 1000 entries to be screened as part of the Short Films for Children screening. The Manchester Animation Festival is the UK’s largest Animation Festival dedicated to the celebration of the animated art form. Hosted at HOME in Manchester, the festival brings one of the UK’s biggest animation hubs together and invites the international community to delight in all things animated.
The film tells the story of a little paper girl who comes to life from a newspaper and goes on an adventure with a friendly spider. The entire film was handcrafted from paper and cardboard and brought to life using Stop Motion Animation. The animation is made up of over 200 individual shots and is comprised of more that 20,000 photographs. In order to create the stop motion animation, all those photographs are strung together and played at 24 Frames Per Second. Check out the trailer below!
