We worked with Poppy Scotland to create a Paper Animation for early years and above which tells the story and history of the poppy and how it became the symbol of remembrance around the world. It also describes how Poppy Scotland make and sell more than 5 million poppies a year for the Scottish Poppy Appeal thanks to thousands of volunteers across the country.

Animation is a great medium for telling stories and also providing valuable information in a engaging way. For this animation we worked from a script provided by Poppy Scotland and from there created a bespoke storyboard and animatic. After that we created paper models and characters for each scene. The paper animation was animated by hand using Stop Motion Animation.

In addition we created 2 short paper animations to promote the Poppy Scotland Learning resources and to introduce ‘Bud’ - Poppy Scotland’s new mobile micro museum which tours the country, educating schools and sharing veteren’s stories of reflection and hope.
