Chicken Run Returns!

Picture this, a 13 year old me at my local independant cinema, the Toldedo, in Glasgow. It’s the year 2000 and the film is Chicken Run. The cinema is half empty and I'm there with my best pal Vicki and all the snacks - back when it cost less than a fiver to see a flick. Little did I know that as I watched a bunch of daring chickens pull off the ultimate great escape from Tweedy's farm, that my life would pivot towards that mysterious and magical world that is Stop Motion Animation. And I was OBSESSED.

At the time they made Chicken Run there simply wasn't enough stop motion animators in the UK for such a big feature film. As a result, many of today's top animators got their first break on that film and it holds a special place in the hearts of many. 18 months after starting my own Stop Motion Animation studio Clubhouse in Glasgow, the annoucement that, after 20 years, the Chicken Run sequel is on the way couldn't be more perfect. When it comes out I will definitely be having a special studio screening, with all the snacks and all the pals. We can all be 13 again.
